Description

A formidable track-only hypercar, the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is perhaps the final naturally-aspirated V12 racing car Lamborghini will build, it is the result of years of motorsport expertise from the firm’s ‘Squadra Corse’ racing division.

The Essenza SCV12 was released in 2020 as Lamborghini’s most powerful model to date, featuring a ram-air induction system, special exhuast tips to reduce back pressure, an FIA-approved carbon-composite crash structure, and impressive aerodynamics resulting in over 1,200 kg of downforce at 155 mph (250 km/h).

The aerodynamics benefit from Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s GT racing experience to ensure efficiency and higher downforce levels than a GT3 car, with a value of 1,200 kg at 155 mph (250 km/h). The front hood has a double air intake with a central rib. The front features a splitter and two lateral elements; on the sides, the flows for engine and gearbox cooling have been optimized by using vertical fins situated on the side sills; the large adjustable double-profile rear wing completes the aerodynamics package.

The structure of the bodywork is formed by only three elements to enable quick replacement when necessary during pit stops. Typical of Lamborghini’s design DNA, the hexagonal geometry characterizes the front headlights, the roof airscoof, and air vents that frame the steering wheel. There is also the unmistakable “Y,” the stylistic feature repeated on the livery and in the cockpit, where each element represents the best compromise between lightweight, functionality and design.

The design of the multifunctional steering wheel with display was inspired by F1 single-seater steering wheels to offer the best ergonomics and a perfect feel, without the driver needing to remove their hands from the wheel. The removable steering wheel has an integrated digital readout and switchable vehicle functions, and a separate high-level digital screen displaying brake balance and differential settings. The specific FIA-homologated OMP seat with carbon shell embraces the driver to ensure comfort, safety, and stability.

Behind the seats, but in front of the gearbox, sits the SCV12’s main attraction, a 6.5-liter atmospheric V12 engine delivering 819 hp, thanks to the contribution of dynamic supercharging at high speeds. The power is handled by an Xtrac sequential six-speed gearbox, combined with rear-wheel drive to ensure compactness, structural continuity, and greater torsional stiffness. The exceptional power-to-weight ratio of 1.66 kg/CV (0.97 hp) is achieved thanks to new-generation carbon fiber monocoque chassis without an internal rollcage. The Essenza SCV12 is also the first GT car developed to respect FIA prototype safety rules. Kinematic solutions by racing prototypes have been adopted, such as the push-rod rear suspension installed directly on the gearbox.

SCV12 owners are part of an exclusive club that gives them access to special programs to drive their hypercar on the most prestigious circuits in the world. The program includes storage in a hangar in Sant’Agata Bolognese for the Essenza SCV12 Club. Each car has its own personalized garage and dedicated services, including webcams to allow customers to monitor their cars 24 hours a day using an app. The facility also houses the ‘Lamborghini Squadra Corse Drivers Lab’ by Technobody to offer athletic training programs similar to those followed by the official Lamborghini racing drivers.

As just one of 40 examples delivered worldwide, this as-new example would make a superb centerpiece within a collection of exotic supercars or race-derived vehicles, and promises to exhilarate each time it is deployed on the new owner’s favorite circuits.

Made to represent the pinnacle of Lamborghini performance, this track-only hypercar is finished in Blu Nethuns and Nero Aldebaran over Nero Cosmus Alcantara. Powered by a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12, delivering 819 hp, paired with a six-speed Xtrac sequential transmission, situated transversely at the rear and combined with rear-wheel drive.

This 2022 Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is a striking example of the Italian firm’s rare and intoxicating track-only hypercar. One of only 40 units produced, this particular example is an unregistered European specification model with factory mileage.

The original specifications included the Blu Nethuns and Nero Aldebaran over Nero Cosmus Alcantara colorway. Among the more notable choices for the build include:

  • Complete carbon fiber aero kit with quick fixing
  • Patterned section on the rear panels and bonnet
  • 90’ race number decals
  • 19-inch front and 20-inch rear monolock system wheels
  • Pirelli tires 285/650 (front) and 354/725 (rear)

 The interior features include:

  • OMP bucket seats and harnesses
  • ‘Lamborghini Squadra Corse’ embroidery
  • Cabin trimmed in carbon fiber and black Alcantara
  • Removable racing and multifunctional steering wheel
  • TFT dashboard by MOTEC
