This 1955 Ford Thunderbird custom roadster, showing 2,613 miles (4,205 km) on the odometer at the time of cataloging, is finished in a striking red, white, and blue color scheme with more than 20 bald eagle features throughout. Built with a serious drag racing focus, this T-Bird trades its original boulevard cruiser personality for all-out straight-line performance, backed by a documented build with fewer than 3,000 miles since completion.
At its core is a Chevy 396ci V8 paired with a Turbo Hydramatic 400 automatic and Ford 9” rear end. A 500-shot nitrous system takes things deep into Expert Racers Only territory, while the fat Hoosier drag radials and custom suspension help put that power down. The heavy lope of the idle is just a tease of the power hiding under the hood of this righteous roadster.
Visually, this T-Bird leans into a patriotic theme with its American flag graphics, monochromatic red finish, and red, white, and blue leather-lined cabin. The shaved door handles show off the professional level of this build and the multitude of bald eagle graphics, emblems, and embroidery speak to the all-American swagger of this spectacular Thunderbird.
Photos documenting the build and receipts are included with the sale.
With its big-block Chevy power, nitrous-assisted output, and drag-focused setup, this 1955 Thunderbird offers a completely different experience than its factory roots would suggest. Built for head-snapping acceleration first and foremost, this wild T-Bird has the hardware to back it up..
Featuring comprehensive documentation and low mileage since completion, this heavily customized Thunderbird is ready to go…FAST. For buyers seeking that rare combination of a classic cruiser body with staggering speed, this Thunderbird is for you.
