Overview

SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this 1969 Plymouth Road Runner hardtop showing 81,362 miles on the odometer at the time of this cataloging. Finished in Sunflower Yellow over a saddle vinyl interior, this Mopar muscle car is now offered with spare keys, a broadcast sheet, engine assembly instructions, an owner’s manual, a warranty booklet, and a clear title.

Right out of the gate, the 1969 Road Runner was winning accolades by automotive outlets and consumers alike. It was a back-to-basics muscle car, recognized by Motor Trend as “Car of the Year” for its successful, no-frills formula consisting of strong performance credentials at an affordable price point.

This Road Runner restomod has been driven only about 1,000 miles since a complete cosmetic and mechanical overhaul. It has been transformed into a high-performance “pro-tourer” that outperforms original factory legends using modern engineering and technology. The engine bay showcases the car’s main attraction: a crate-sourced, 505-horsepower “Wedge” 500ci Mopar Performance V8 with a myriad of polished billet accessories and a Be Cool aluminum radiator. The engine produces massive torque, so traction is optimized with a grippy set of Mickey Thompson GT Street slicks at the rear.

The cockpit, too, was thoughtfully crafted with both form and function in mind. An electronic engine-management display has been cleverly housed inside the custom center console for at-a-glance monitoring of critical functions of the Holley Sniper EFI system, and a Vintage Air HVAC system keeps things comfortable for everyone who comes along for the ride. This athletic Mopar hardtop is a performer that blends iconic muscle-car styling with modern engineering.
