This 1989 Land Rover Defender 90, showing just 4,675 miles (7,523 km) since completion, is finished in Keswick Green over a tan diamond-quilted leather interior and was comprehensively rebuilt by Safari Heritage Parts. The project included refurbishment or replacement of major systems throughout, resulting in a well-sorted example that blends classic Defender character with modern upgrades at a cost of some $75,000.
Outside, the iconic lines remain, but have been dialed up with a Kahn Design wideboy kit and Sawtooth-style wheels wrapped in chunky all-terrain tires. Details like the Puma bonnet, LED lighting, and black diamond-plate trim sharpen the vibe, while an Exmoor Trim canvas top keeps the open-air feel that defines these Defender 90s alive.
Under the hood, a 430-horsepower Corvette LS3 V8 that replaces the original motor is paired with a 6L80E 6-speed automatic and rebuilt dual-range transfer case. The modern power, updated suspension, and full disc braking system give this stunning Defender 90 modern capability without sacrificing its core identity.
Safari Heritage Parts build sheets are included, documenting the restoration and upgrades.
This 1989 Land Rover Defender 90 takes the familiar shape of a classic off-roader and backs it with high performance and daily usability. The LS3 V8 and updated chassis components promise serious capability on and off the road, while the interior and exterior upgrades bring it up to a higher overall standard of luxury with sharp looks.
Boasting a comprehensively documented build, low miles since completion, and a well-executed specification, this Defender offers turnkey access to a vintage British off-roading icon reborn with modern engineering.
