The Jaguar XKE Roadster is pure vintage sex appeal on wheels — sleek, savage, and way ahead of its time. This isn't just a classic, it’s the classic that made Enzo Ferrari jealous.
Overview
SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this 1961 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8L roadster showing just 218 mi (351 km) on the odometer at the time of cataloging. Finished in maroon over a beige leather interior, this stunning icon of 1960s British motoring is a knockout from every angle.
Part of the earliest runs of E-Types, today’s elegant roadster comes with the external bonnet latches, flat cabin floors sans recessed footwells of later models, and hand-welded bonnet louvers prized by collectors and Jaguar aficionados.
Hailed as one of the most breathtaking sports cars of its time, this Series I E-Type roadster is no less incredible today. If anything, it has become even more desirable thanks to all the hallmarks of careful stewardship over the years. And of course, those magnificent E-Type lines will never go out of style.

Summary
It is estimated that only 385 left-hand drive examples of the original 1961 Jaguar E-Type roadsters were completed before the British automaker revised the model later that year. Changes included doing away with the bonnet and floor nuances that make the early cars so special.
Today’s example falls within that highly exclusive pool of E-Types and benefits from a handsome refinish in its current shade of maroon, a recent major service, and a numbers-matching inline-6. Timelessly stylish with that impossibly long hood and perfectly upswept rear haunch, the Jaguar E-Type is a true sports car icon, and this particular car is one of the best.
