SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this meticulously-maintained 2012 Audi R8 showing 33,200 miles at the time of this cataloging. Finished in Daytona Grey Metallic over a black leather interior, this Type 42 R8 is now offered by a private seller in California with two keys, a toolkit, service records, an Experian Vehicle History report, and a clear title.
With history dating back to 2006 and exterior design based on the Audi Le Mans Quattro concept car, the R8 has been turning heads on streets and racetracks for nearly two decades. While originally offered with a 4.2-liter V8, the performance bar was raised when a 5.2-liter V10 joined the equipment list a few years later. Boasting 525 horsepower, a sport-tuned chassis, and a Quattro all-wheel-drive system for maximum grip, it became a truly formidable machine in the exotic segment.
This stunning R8 received over $7,600 in performance upgrades via a Global Motorsport Group lowering spring kit and a cat-back sport exhaust system, both of which amplify the car’s already exhilarating driving experience. The car has resided in California for the last decade and comes with a comprehensive file of service records. Recent maintenance included air conditioning compressor replacement, an oil change, and battery change. The car is fully sorted and ready for its next owner. Best of all, it comes with a transferable four-year warranty from American Car Protect for heightened peace of mind.
The distinctive R8 is in a class of its own – between its V10 growl, a premium interior, and sporty underpinnings, it’s a speed demon with a classy side.
The vehicle carries a transferable four-year aftermarket warranty from American Car Protect.
Select highlights from the accompanying service documentation include:
The Experian Vehicle History Report shows that the vehicle’s earliest registration took place in Auburn Hills, Michigan in March 2012. The vehicle was relocated to the west coast in January 2015 and has resided in California since that time. The following information is presented in the report:
The most recent reported odometer reading was 22,566 in January 2024, which is in-line with the car’s current reading of 33,200 miles.
The seller notes that as of the June 2025 service, remaining life on the ceramic brakes was recorded at 76 percent. A photo gallery, a walk-around video, drive-by footage, a start-up, and an in-car driving demonstration are available for review.
The wheels show some curb rash as seen in the photos. The seller notes there was slight damage to the rear bumper that was resolved with replacement of some trim.
The R8 is a supercar with a proven track record, and this low-mileage Daytona Grey example is ready to deliver on that reputation. The car has been had regular check-ups and oil changes annually, and it will be accompanied by an American Can Protect extended warranty for elevated peace of mind.
For the audiophiles, it also comes with a lifetime Sirius XM satellite radio subscription, but we imagine you’d probably rather be listening to the song of a naturally-aspirated V10 with a GMG Racing exhaust system. Start mapping out your favorite driving roads, because your canyon-carver is here.
