SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this 1992 Acura NSX showing just 2,020 miles at the time of this cataloging. Finished in Grand Prix White over a black leather interior, this NA1 NSX is offered by its original owner in Pennsylvania with memorabilia, manuals, a window sticker, service records, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear title.
Everything about the first-generation Acura NSX was calculated with exacting precision. The prototype was in development for six years before hitting production. When the original NSX Concept (named for being a “New Sports Experimental”) was shown at the Chicago Auto Show in February 1989, the world got a glimpse of a machine that would garner a devout enthusiast following for decades to come.
Blending captivating looks, agile performance, and renowned reliability, the NSX was something special. Honda’s standards were so high for the car that each of the Tochigi plant’s 200 associates were hand-selected (each with a minimum 10 years’ experience), and only 32 cars were assembled each day. They were building more than a car; they were building a motoring icon that would raise the bar for expectations of supercar enthusiasts when it came to a long-term ownership experience.
This stunning unit, the 809th in sequence produced for its year, was finished in Grand Prix White as a nod to Honda’s rich history in Formula 1 motorsports. It was sparingly driven early in life, and it went on to spend subsequent years in secure safekeeping after accruing only about 2,000 miles on the odometer.
Years later, in a recommissioning that took the internet by storm, the car emerged from its slumber and was put back into roadworthiness at the skilled hands of Leading Edge Autosport who performed a major mechanical freshening. In addition, Larry Kosilla, of detailing fame – known under his YouTube channel “AMMO NYC” – treated the car to the ultimate in pampering. The car retains its 1992-era Yokohama tires and the original Pennsylvania inspection stickers in the windshield.
You might say this NSX is fresh out of the wrapper. And whether you choose to drive it or display it, you can rest assured its unique story is one that will be legendary for years to come.
This NSX was manufactured in Tochigi, Japan in November 1991 and initially delivered to Charlie Victor, Inc. (DBA West Chester Acura) in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The car bears its original labels and decals.
The car’s unique story was featured by Road & Track in April 2024 and in July 2024. In addition, the cosmetic overhaul performed by Larry Kosilla of AMMO NYC was chronicled in a YouTube video that has since amassed over 1.5 million views.
The CARFAX report classifies this NSX as a one-owner vehicle with no accidents or damage on record. The first owner’s acquisition was recorded on March 17, 1992 at 69 miles on the odometer. There are no follow-up entries to that initial record.
This NSX was sorted by Leading Edge Autosport, and according to the seller’s agent who commissioned the work with Leading Edge, the car’s original rubber trim is in good shape throughout. The only parts that were changed were those necessary for maintenance with exception of the original tires.
The seller notes that the transmission, which bears serial number J4A4-1005311, is said to fall within a production range that may be susceptible to snap ring failure. Images of the serial number have been provided in the photo gallery.
Known imperfections:
Per the seller, the air conditioning refrigerant is R12 and needs to be recharged.
They don’t get any more original than this Grand Prix White NA1 NSX, and if you missed the chance to buy one of these cars when they were new, this is the real deal. The NSX’s design – inspired by a jet fighter cockpit – is instantly recognizable, and it’s backed up by a robust powertrain. The NSX’s driving experience is intentionally analog and immersive, and it’s no wonder the car has remained a steadfast favorite among collectors and enthusiasts. This car’s original owner, in logging just 2,000 total miles, has only begun to enjoy what the NSX has to offer. Now it’s your turn to take the reins.
