SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III LWB showing just 96,026 mi (154,539 km) on the odometer at the time of cataloging. Finished in Black over a Gray leather interior, this stately saloon is the definition of classic British luxury motoring.
Throughout the 1950s and ‘60s, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud was known as the gold standard of automotive luxury. Connolly leather upholstery, rich wood veneers, and deep Wilton carpets were the calling cards of these highly desirable and exclusive cars.
Series III models, like the example up for auction today, ushered in a styling refresh that featured the iconic quad headlamps along with a more sophisticated V8 engine and a refined chassis. It would also mark the final run of hand-made, factory-built Rolls-Royce bodies, and this handsome 1965 Silver Cloud is a stunning example of the breed.
Extensive service documentation can be seen in the gallery with receipts that include work performed by Bentley of Zionsville, Indiana, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars of Bellevue, Washington, and others. Per the seller, a complete brake job was recently completed.
The gallery includes imagery of the vehicle, including a detailed look at the undercarriage condition.
Though Rolls-Royce did not disclose engine output figures at the time, it is estimated that the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 generated 230 horsepower and was capable of a 120-mph top speed. This is just one more reason these elegant Silver Cloud III’s are so coveted among collectors and driving enthusiasts alike.
Laden with sumptuous luxury amenities and featuring the rare division window, today’s 1965 Silver Cloud III has an expansive cabin courtesy of the LWB spec and shows all the hallmarks of careful stewardship. According to the owner, this black beauty is ready for the lawn at Pebble Beach, which is a fitting locale for such a glorious machine.
