Finished in Alubeam Silver over a Black leather and Alcantara cabin, this “Super Leicht Sport” has the breathtaking performance to back up its head-snapping good looks.

The SLS AMG was the first car ever designed and built entirely by the artisans and engineers from Affalterbach. An outrageously long hood, tight overhangs, and spectacular gullwing doors pay homage to the 300SL Gullwing from the 1950s. 

But underneath that award-winning design, the SLS AMG is a cutting-edge modern supercar. Featuring an aluminum body and hand-built V8 engine, these exclusive AMG super sports cars can hit 60 in less than 4 seconds and nearly 200 mph at the top end. 

Today’s car is elevated further by its Alubeam Silver finish, a factory option that was applied - by hand - in 7 layers to deliver its unique molten silver look. So labor intensive was this finish that AMG could only build 3 per week in this spec. It’s a stunner.

VEHICLE INSPECTION

The vehicle was inspected on January 26, 2025. 

Per the report, the inspector was unable to open the trunk and it was noted that only the central speaker produced sound. Per the seller, there is no issue with the trunk (as can be seen in gallery photos) and the audio "problem" arose because the optional amplifier and speaker control unit was not powered on.

OWNERSHIP HISTORY & PROVENANCE

This 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has had two owners, but the first returned the car one day after purchasing it from Mercedes-Benz of West Covina on July 31, 2011 because he wanted a different vehicle. The seller then purchased the vehicle from the same dealership with 35 miles on the odometer.

SUMMARY

The SLS AMG is a showstopper standing still with its bewitching proportions - that low and wide front end, a greenhouse slung way back, and a clipped rear end. But when those gullwing doors are open? The SLS AMG becomes art on four wheels.
