Ferrari’s buyers do a lot more with their cars than people think.

For every collector that buys one, parks it in an air-conditioned garage and puts zero miles under its belt, there’s another that actually drives his Ferrari.

Like other equivalent automakers, Ferrari has complex, structured and well-organized one-make racing competitions for its customers, chief among which is the Ferrari Challenge.

The 360 Challenge Stradale is the road-going, street-legal version of the 360 Challenge.

It is based on the 360 Modena but it’s faster, tougher and more track-friendly.

It does 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds, 0.6 seconds quicker than the standard model,

and features Ferrari’s iconic F1-style automated manual gearbox.

It also has larger brakes with gold-painted calipers, a revised ABS software and, of course, a massive wing.

This vehicle is technically a one-off

The model you see here, available from SBX Cars, is slightly different, and it is technically a one-off.

Inspired by the 360 Challenge, it features the Challenge Stradale TCU and a new Capristo exhaust.

Cosmetically, it’s painted red with red calipers, with Italian flag stripes on the hood and the trunk, and it’s also fitted with OEM 18-inch Challenge Stradale wheel.

This vehicle is halfway between the 360 Modena and the 360 Challenge, more ‘civilized’ than the latter while still being faster and more hardcore than the former.

A US-spec model, the car has done 37,472 miles, which means its previous owner actually did drive and enjoy it.

We’re always happy to see that.

The story behind this Ferrari is actually epic

There’s a story behind the vehicle you see here.

After retiring from a 25-year career racing Porsches, the owner of this 360 was invited to take part in the Ferrari Challenge Series with a factory 360 Challenge.

He loved it so much he asked if he could buy it on the spot.

Unfortunately he couldn’t do that simply because the car was still needed in the series, so he decided to create his own 360 Challenge.

He bought a 2003 360 Modena with a clean title and spent three years modifying it to make it as adherent as possible to the 360 Challenge.

The car is fitted with GruppeM intakes imported from Japan that match the factory Challenge Stradale spec, punching up airflow dramatically.

In addition to that, the stock 360 Modena suspension was reconfigured to mirror the Challenge Stradale, with new bushings, springs, and dampers, not to mention a fresh set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires with original 18-inch alloys from the 360 Challenge Stradale.

The result, as you can see, is truly impressive.
