The Adamastor Furia — Portugal’s First Supercar Steps Into the Spotlight

Most people think of wine, beaches and Cristiano Ronaldo when it comes to Portugal, but the sunny country in the westernmost point of the European continent also made a supercar.

It’s called the Adamastor Furia, and it vaguely looks like an Aston Martin Valkyrie.

That’s a good thing, that’s like saying somebody vaguely looks like Brad Pitt.

However, unlike the aforementioned Valkyrie, the Furia is a bit less digital, a bit less technical, and a lot more analog and brutal.

Furia, which is Portuguese for Fury, is a hypercar powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 borrowed from Ford.

This is loosely the same engine that powers the latest Ford GT and, in this case, it makes 650bhp and 421lb-ft of torque.

That’s impressive stuff.

The top speed is 186mph (300km/h) and 0-62mph is dealt with in 3.5 seconds.

A lightweight best

The Furia is equipped with a Ford Performance engine that produces more than 350 horsepower

The Furia is a fast supercar, partly because of its Ford V6, but also because of its weight.

It only weighs 1,050kg.

This is due to the fact that the bodywork is mostly made from carbon fiber to keep the weight down, including the fuel tank, which means the power-to-weight ratio is impressive.

The car is incredibly wide, well over 2.2 meters, equivalent to 86 inches, which makes it much wider than most vehicles out there including a Range Rover and the Cybertruck.

It is also short and low to the ground, just 1098mm tall – or 39 inches.

Adamastor designed Furia to be a no-nonsense hypercar with performance in mind, which means you get ABS and traction control, but not much else.

This supercar is a lot of things, but cheap isn’t one of them

Despite being the product of a country that’s not known for its cars, and even though it’s made by a company most people may have never heard of, this supercar is not cheap at all.

It starts at €1.6 million, equivalent to USD $1.82 million at today’s rate.

And that’s before taxes.

But if you’ve got that kind of cash lying around, then this hypercar is worth every penny.
