Description

Offered for sale is this 2019 Ford GT.

The second-generation Ford GT stunned the world when it was unveiled at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. It also proved that the automaker could still produce a world-beating, mid-engine supercar, and it intended to prove this at the crucible of motorsports, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The second iteration of the modern GT comes fitted with a 647-hp, twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine mated to a seven-speed Getrag dual-clutch transmission, good for the 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) dash in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 216 mph (348 km/h).

Ford’s designers worked tirelessly to priortize the GT’s low weight and aerodynamic efficiency, penning bodywork that ingeniously channels air to its engine and brakes while maximizing downforce. Stopping power comes in the form of six-piston monoblock calipers over 15.5-inch carbon-ceramic discs up front, while four-piston calipers are mounted over 14.1-inch units out back. The Ford GT also employed hydraulic power steering, making for a racecar that by every account provided satisfying feedback to the driver. Designers also worked on prioritizing an efficient architecture, with the sports seats fixed rather than adjustable, and the pedal box and steering wheel designed to adjust around the driver rather than vice versa.

The Ford GT features a carbon-fiber monocoque structure bolted to front and rear aluminum subframes that serve as stressed members for the hydraulically-adjustable pushrod suspension system. Variable ride height, front-axle lift system, selectable driving modes, and launch control are standard features.

The car has five different drive modes (Wet, Comfort, Sport, Track and V-Max), plus a computer-controlled aerodynamic package that helps it develop more downforce but less drag than any rival. There is also an airbrake at the back and winglets at the front that move to alter the center of pressure as the downforce increases at speed. Without these, the GT would develop too much downforce at the front, relative to the rear. In Track mode, the car instantly lowers by 50mm at the flick of a switch, and the springs effectively become 100 percent stiffer than in Sport mode. In Sport and Track, there is an anti-lag system that all-but eliminates turbo lag by keeping the turbines spinning irrelevant of the throttle position.

Demand for the Ford GT was – and remains – insatiable; applications outnumbered available chassis by nearly tenfold at the model’s official launch. The application process was stringent, with Ford handpicking loyal enthusiasts and mandating that they keep their cars for an extended period of time. Only 1,350 GT examples were planned through the 2022 model year, with production being handled by Multimatic of Markham, Ontario, Canada. As such, the current GT model is a far rarer and more potent offering than previous, with nearly 2,700 fewer examples produced than the 2005-2006 GT model.

This incedidbly well-specified 2019 Ford GT left the factory finished in stunning Liquid Gray Pearl with over-the-top silver stripes over a black leather interior. The car is equipped with the exterior carbon-fiber package, LED headlights and tailights, a retractable active rear wing, and a rear diffuser. 20-inch alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Thanks to its blistering performance, spectacular aerodynamic design, cutting-edge technology, and proven Le Mans-winning pedigree, this Ford GT would make the ultimate addition to any car collection.

This 2019 Ford GT is a true American supercar with Le Mans racing pedigree, finished in Ford factory color Liquid Gray Pearl with silver stripes over a black leather interior. The engine is a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, producing 647 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque (746 Nm), running power to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
