This 1986 Land Rover Defender 110 sport-utility vehicle shows 117 miles at the time of this cataloging. Finished in Eastnor Green over a black cloth interior, it is offered by Garage Kept Motors with a clean title.
Right out of the gate, the Defender became legendary for its boxy design, robust galvanized ladder-style chassis, and rugged, utilitarian construction. Its long-travel coil springs, telescopic dampers, approach and departure angles, and center locking differential gave it superior all-terrain capability.
Following its final assembly in the United Kingdom, this long-wheelbase Defender 110 originated in the Netherlands market. Later in life, it was treated to a complete restoration, including a powertrain update, a cosmetic overhaul, and the installation of modern creature comforts like air conditioning and a sound-deadened cabin. The seller’s detailed photo gallery illustrates the phases of the rigorous process.
This 110 has been driven just 117 miles since the build, and it was indoor-stored by the same owner for the past seven years. Under the hood is a 355-horsepower late-model GM 5.3-liter V8 that gives the SUV modern performance with the added benefit of a straightforward maintenance routine. The brush guard, side steps, LED lighting, and beefy BFGoodrich tires give it added confidence on any trail.
This Defender is a turn-key, safari-ready machine ready for wherever the next expedition leads.
Service history for this recent build is not available. The vehicle is said to be free of any outstanding mechanical issues.
The selling dealer has provided a gallery of photos as well as a video showing a start-up, an interior overview, an exterior walk-around, and a look inside the engine bay.
This Defender 110 is said to be free of substantial imperfections.
This completely-restored 110 provides the perfect balance of rugged workhorse capability and vintage style. It has been modernized with a GM small-block engine and six-speed automatic transmission for performance and reliability. It’s a Defender that will confidently tackle the urban jungle or a back-country trail. And best of all, it’s an instantly recognizable icon with investment value and collectability.
