100 miles since a decade-long frame-off restoration—this 1948 Power Wagon is the original 4x4 legend, rebuilt to conquer trails and turn heads!
Overview
SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this 1948 Dodge Power Wagon 4WD truck showing 100 miles on the odometer at the time of this cataloging. Finished in blue over a black vinyl interior, this restored Power Wagon is now offered with restoration documentation, an owner’s manual, and a clear title.
Paving the way for today’s ubiquitous full-sized pickups, the Power Wagon was one of the first mass-produced civilian 4WD trucks on the road when it first debuted in the mid-1940s. It was derived from Dodge’s World War II-era three-quarter-ton WC series, and although spartan in amenities, it was a heavy-duty performer and was marketed as “the truck of a thousand uses.”
Robinson Restoration & Service of Denton, Texas, has over 50 years of collective experience and has demonstrated its commitment to “bring life back to American muscle.” That is exactly what the skilled team at Robinson did with this rugged Power Wagon. The truck was treated to a frame-off restoration that endured nearly a decade – a project that involved painstaking disassembly, refinishing, assembly, mechanical work, and fine touches to bring it to the next level.
The truck’s original 230ci L-head inline-six was torn down to the crankshaft. The cylinders were re-bored, and the engine received new rings, pistons, bearings, and gaskets. Similarly, the original four-speed manual transmission and two-speed transfer case were overhauled. The entire restoration emphasized precision and detail. Outside, inside, and underneath, the truck is a work of art and a symbol of history.
