SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this 1974 BMW 3.0 CS showing 28,138 kilometers (17,484 miles) on the odometer at the time of this cataloging. Finished in Inka Orange over a black leather interior, this “E9” 3.0 CS is offered in Michigan by Garage Kept Motors with a tool kit, a certificate from BMW Classic, records, an owner’s manual, and a clear title.
BMW’s E9, produced from 1968 through 1975, was a classic grand-touring coupe. Even fifty-plus years ago, it elevated standards for luxury and design in the realm of high-end motoring. Its long-hood, short-deck silhouette was conceived by Wilhelm Hofmeister, and the look still captivates enthusiasts today. Car and Driver summed it up well by saying, “An inline-six and a manual transmission provide driving bliss, or you could just pull up a chair and stare at it.” Well-preserved E9 examples are increasingly sought-after in the collector marketplace.
This vivid Inka Orange CS was imported to the United States from Germany in 2020. While retaining a largely original look and feel, it has been lightly modernized with a set of 17-inch BBS wheels and a touchscreen audio system. As an added bonus, it also comes with recent service history: In December 2025, the engine oil, power steering belt, alternator belt, and fuel pump were replaced.
For a turnkey grand-tourer that is ready to cruise, the seller says this 3.0 CS is “as visually captivating today as it was when new,” and thanks to the recent maintenance, it performs as nicely as it looks.
Work performed in December 2025 by Aaltech Automotive Service included the following:
This 3.0 CS is said to be free of any significant imperfections.
The E9 was a sophisticated grand-tourer that embodied BMW’s legacy of sporty luxury. It had the look and feel of luxury five decades ago, and it still makes a statement today. This recently-serviced Inka Orange 3.0 CS is the perfect machine for a BMW enthusiast who seeks a beautiful design, classic engineering, and just the right touch of modern appointments added in.
