SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this Beck Spyder-based tribute to the 1955 Porsche 550 showing 21,021 miles on the odometer at the time of this cataloging. Finished in a matte gray wrap with vintage motorsports design elements over a blue leather interior, this bespoke roadster is now offered in Indiana with a clear title on a state-assigned vehicle identification number.
First brought to life in 1953, the original Porsche 550 Spyder was a lightweight, mid-engined sports car. It was designed specifically for racing purposes, boasting a low, aerodynamic profile and a track-tuned suspension. The 550 went on to claim multiple class victories at Le Mans, becoming a dominant force in racing as well as an enthusiast’s “poster car” throughout popular culture.
Paying tribute to that iconic machine is a custom replica handcrafted by the team at S-KLUB LA, a Southern California-based automotive design studio. S-KLUB has become known for combining artistic vision with precision engineering, and the company’s creations have unparalleled exclusivity and status.
This high-quality build started off using a Beck Spyder kit from Special Edition Inc., a company founded in 1983 has since manufactured kit cars like the Speedster and the GTS that are being enjoyed and shown around the world. Special Edition says, “We blend cutting-edge engineering with timeless design, delivering superior craftsmanship that ensures years of exhilarating driving.”
A timeless design it is in, indeed. This 550 Spyder was built in 2022 to convey a raw, analog driving experience while delivering performance and craftsmanship in line with modern standards. It is presented in a vintage motorsports-themed matte livery with a fully leather-upholstered upholstered cockpit, front compartment, and engine bay. The level of detail goes above and beyond – including copper-finished trim, a set of vintage HRE wheels, and a fully sorted 1,915cc flat-four powerplant. The car’s Freeway Flyer transmission make it a comfortable grand-tourer on longer adventures.
High-quality replicas hold strong collector value, and this bespoke tribute to the Porsche 550 Spyder is a precision-built supercar that will turn heads and garner smiles for years to come.
