SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SE coupe showing 110,472 documented miles on the odometer at the time of this cataloging. Finished in Silver Grey Metallic over a black leather interior, this W111 coupe is offered in California with records, manuals, two keys, and a clear title.
Crafted by French automotive designer Paul Bracq, the W111 coupe was an elegant, full-sized grand-tourer produced from 1961 through 1971. It was an opulent machine, blending timeless design with advanced engineering for the era. The pillarless profile, combined with a commanding grille and stacked quad headlights, gave it a presence on the road that still speaks for itself many decades later. According to production data, there were just 5,187 W111 coupes built during its decade-long run. Of those, only 5-600 were the low grille variant as with this example.
Manufactured in Stuttgart, West Germany in August 1969, this elegant coupe comes with a library of supporting materials and bears showroom-worthy condition both inside and out. Its five-passenger cabin is a refuge from the world, delivering luxurious appointments like burled woodgrain trim, bucket seats with armrests, air conditioning, power windows, a Becker Grand Prix radio, and coco floor mats.
For a car that exudes taste and elegance, this sleek silver 280SE showcases the look and feel that helped put Mercedes-Benz on the map as a world-class automaker. Best of all, it is accompanied by a catalog of records and its original books. It is a symbol of graceful European motoring with collector appeal.
