SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this one-off 1967 Kaiser-Jeep M715 4x4 military truck (“ANV-KJ1”) showing 361 miles on the odometer at the time of this cataloging. Finished in USA Military Gray over a saddle leather interior, this bespoke pickup is now offered in Utah by the builder, Blacksmith Garage, with a build sheet and a clear Indiana title.
Dubbed the “five-quarter” truck, the 1.25-ton M715 created a name for itself as a Military-grade tactical truck with rugged, heavy-duty architecture. Manufactured by Kaiser-Jeep and sold new only to the military from 1967 through 1969, it could conquer the most challenging of terrain and conditions. Many were put to use during the Armed Forces’ efforts in Vietnam and elsewhere around the world, and after service, some were sold to the public. This M715 was one such unit, and later in life, it went through a complete transformation.
Blacksmith Garage of Eden, Utah invested five years and over 4,000 hours of craftsmanship into the build of this completely reimagined custom M715. Blacksmith’s website says, “Our goal is to hand-build the ultimate version of a vehicle for a discerning client… defined in terms of performance, modern comforts, and capability while vigorously holding onto the soul of the original vehicle.”
And indeed, Blacksmith did all of that and more. The painstaking nature of this build involved hand-forming some of the sheet metal components. The engineering architecture was beefed up with tough, high-performance suspension components, heavy-duty axles, sway bars, and a modern 485-horsepower HEMI V8 that could move the truck with power and authority. Things didn’t stop there, as the truck’s cabin was fitted with all the creature comforts of a modern truck including cutting-edge infotainment.
Fewer than 400 test miles have been driven since completion of this build – one that has caught the admiration of enthusiasts around the globe. This one-of-a-kind, go-anywhere collector truck that pays tribute to Americana while delivering on all of its original Military promises and many more.
The seller has provided a comprehensive photo gallery including photos of the build process. In addition, there are videos documenting the build, a walk-around, and a driving demonstration.
This custom Kaiser Jeep M715 is said to be free of imperfections.
The idea, planning, and execution of this Kaiser-Jeep build make it like no other vehicle on the face of the planet. Designed with mindfulness of its military origins but equipped with the most advanced in modern equipment, it is a collector-grade truck that Blacksmith Garage confidently stands behind. The Blacksmith team is ready to pass the reins on this special 4x4 to an enthusiast who will appreciate its backstory – and perhaps even put all that equipment to a rugged real-world test. Bring it on.
