SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this 2001 Ferrari 360 Challenge, which is believed to be one of 200 produced. Finished in Rosso Corsa over a stripped racing cabin with OMP carbon fiber seats, according to the seller, this is one of the few factory-built racers from the period Ferrari Challenge series.
Not to be confused with the Stradale road cars, this 360 Challenge was purpose-built by Ferrari for its privateer clients to race in the one-make Challenge worldwide series. Factory modifications ranged from a dedicated fuel cell and ducted brakes to 250 pounds of deleted content, stiffer engine mounts, and a racing clutch.
Capable of more than 1.50 g of lateral acceleration thanks to some 400 pounds of downforce, the 360 Challenge is a hardcore track car. Today’s example put all that prowess to work, racing until 2005, before a full restoration and residence at a private collection in Washington State.
The current owner purchased the car from this collection in 2021. After being driven 2 laps around Lime Rock Park in Connecticut to confirm all systems operated properly, this 360 Challenge was placed back into a private collection and has not been raced since.
This 2001 360 Challenge was serviced in April 2025. Work performed included the following:
Originally finished in Argento Nürburgring, this 2001 Ferrari 360 Challenge currently shines in the classic shade of Rosso Corsa. It boasts a full complement of exterior decals, has all the coveted GT upgrades, and is currently riding on a new set of Pirelli racing slicks.
Capable of going 0-60 in less than 4 seconds and on to a top speed of more than 180 mph, these Ferrari racers are plenty quick. But it is perhaps the wail of the mid-mounted naturally aspirated V8 at its 8,500 rpm redline that is the most tantalizing aspect of this rare beast.
A surefire highlight of any serious Ferrari enthusiast’s collection, this carefully maintained 360 Challenge also offers the promise of wicked track-day performance for those willing to cut it loose.
