Since 1984 when the first Saleen-upgraded Mustang was crafted, Saleen has partnered with Ford in producing high-performance pony cars with elevated muscle, aerodynamics, styling, and braking systems. Building on the popular fifth-generation Mustang platform, this S281 convertible received the full treatment, starting with a supercharged V8 with a Series VI screw-type supercharger, Saleen “Powerflash” calibration, a performance air filter, and a 2.5-inch exhaust system.
