Exactly 100 years ago, company founder W.O. Bentley created an exclusive 3.0-liter machine dubbed Supersports. Today’s gorgeous red droptop is the modern reincarnation of that legend. Described by Bentley as a “fusion of extremes”, it blends the elegance of the Continental with a bit more menace and a lot more performance. Capable of a top speed north of 200 mph, these Supersports were the most potent Bentleys at the time with all 590 lb-ft of torque available at just 1,700 rpm. 

Hundreds of pounds lighter than the standard Continental, Bentley fitted the Supersports with a host of exclusive content, including more power from the twin-turbo W12, special forged alloy wheels, massive carbon-ceramic brakes, and a sharp-dressed style courtesy of the vaporized metal process used to trim the exterior in Smoked Steel. In short, this 2011 Continental Supersports convertible is a very special Bentley.

Bentley engineers pulled out all the stops to meet the Supersports design brief that stated simply, “Make the quickest convertible in Bentley’s history.” Cutting weight, widening the rear track, dialing up output of the mighty twin-turbo 12-cylinder engine, and giving it a 40/60 front/rear torque split for the AWD system were just a few of the methods employed to achieve this. 

Capable of going from 0-60 in less than 4 seconds and onto a top speed of 202 mph, these Supersports are truly impressive performance machines. And in the rarified arena of the convertible variant - only 583 were built - today’s stunning St. James Red Pearlescent example stands tall in its all-original, ultra-low-mileage condition.
