SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS showing 70,594 miles at the time of this cataloging. Finished in Tuxedo Black over a black vinyl interior, this restored muscle car is offered with a clear title by MP Classics in Los Angeles, California.
Known for its unmistakable muscle car styling, performance heritage, and customization potential, the 1968 Camaro had an instantly recognizable look to it. Chevrolet’s pony car had evolved into its second model year, and the design team incorporated new features like the Astro Ventilation fresh-air-inlet system, front and rear side marker lights, and a revised grille. The Camaro was on a roll, winning 10 of 13 races in the Trans-Am series. General Motors sold over 235,000 units, to nobody’s surprise.
Fast forwarding a few decades: Chevrolet’s LS2, from the generation IV series of small-block V8 engines, became used in some of GM’s most iconic performance cars including the C6 Corvette, the Pontiac GTO, and the Cadillac CTS-V. The engine employed an aluminum block and aluminum cylinder heads, giving it a strong yet lightweight foundation that many custom car builders used as a basis for go-fast upgrades.
And that’s exactly what happened here: A modern LS2 heart was the key ingredient that elevated this first-generation Camaro Rally Sport into a truly performance-oriented, yet reliable, classic – masterfully blending old and new. The car’s Holley Sniper fuel-injection system, Flowmaster exhaust, air conditioning system, and Pioneer Bluetooth stereo were a few of the thoughtful details added during restoration.
Just 3,000 miles have been logged since that work was completed, so this sleek machine with hideaway headlights is ready for plenty of summer Saturday night cruises on a boulevard near you.
The trim tag decodes as follows:
The photo gallery illustrates the exterior, interior, engine bay, and underbody condition for this classic Camaro. The car is being listed by MP Classics, which has been in business for over 10 years, and is said to be a very nice driver-grade example.
Per the selling dealer, the air shocks are inoperative.
A third-party inspection was conducted on June 20, 2025. Various imperfections were noted, including some noise at start-up. Per the selling dealer, the noise noted by the inspector was due to the fact that the car was out of fuel. After filling the tank, the vehicle was reportedly started and restarted several times without issue.
Boasting only 3,000 miles since a full overhaul, this restomod Camaro RS is a muscle car that brings modern-day performance to a classic silhouette. There is a reason why the Camaro was so popular during the muscle car wars of the 1960s – and why it remains a sought-after icon for collectors today. Take advantage of the opportunity to own a car that is guaranteed to turn heads for all the right reasons.
