Overview
SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this 1962 Porsche 356 B showing just 27,830 mi (44,788 km) on the odometer at the time of cataloging. Finished in Ruby Red over a Black leather cabin, this classic sports car comes from a series that has been delighting Porsche enthusiasts for more than 75 years.
Renowned for its sporting ways back in the 1960s, today’s example has been carefully maintained from day one and comes with a fully documented history, Kardex listing factory colors and powertrain numbers, and its original, fully functional daylight lights.
Picked up by its original owner in Germany via the European delivery program, this 356 B remained in California with the same family until 1988. In the 1990s, the original black leatherette interior was reupholstered with leather and the body was refinished in its factory shade of Ruby Red.
The numbers-matching 1.6L flat-4 engine was blueprinted and rebuilt in 2005 by Proshop of San Rafael, California, at which point an 86 mm big bore kit was installed and the transmission was overhauled. Per the seller, this 1962 356 B is in excellent driving condition, which you see in the gallery start-up and drive-by clips.
