OVERVIEW

SBX Cars is proud to offer at no reserve this 2021 Genty Akylone prototype showing just 300 miles on the odometer at the time of cataloging. Finished in Black over a Caramel cabin, this ultra-exclusive French exotic is an astonishing example of pure automotive enthusiasm. 

Frenchman Frédéric Genty grew up dreaming about Ferraris and Lamborghinis, a passion that led to a career in advanced composite materials and high-tech prototyping. Combining these talents, he founded Genty Automobiles to craft his very own hypercar - with a twist.

Following in the footsteps of Colin Chapman and recognizing how modern hypercars are hamstrung by too much complexity and weight, Mr. Genty went in a different direction. The result is the Akylone, a vehicle clearly belonging to the hypercar breed, but dedicated to driving pleasure.

It features fiberglass panels over a tubular steel chassis to hint at the future carbon chassis on the production model, a focused removal of sensation-sapping modern driving technologies, and of course, a brutally powerful engine. In this prototype, that’s an Audi R8 5.2L V10 strapped with twin turbos. 

All of which is designed, manufactured, and assembled right in the heart of the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region of France. The Genty Akylone is a 100% French “tribute to beauty and performance” and “the ultimate expression of automobile pleasure and passion”. THIS is a special car.

It is important to note that the Akylone prototype up for auction today, though technically driveable, is not intended as such. Instead, it is presented as automotive artwork, the perfect display piece to highlight a collection and enjoy in static form.

Before delivery to the buyer, the vehicle will undergo a complete check-up so as to ensure the buyer's complete satisfaction with the purchase. Upon delivery, Genty Automobile will undertake to train the end customer on the use of the car as well as on the opening systems. Thereafter, Genty Automobile will perform needed maintenance of the car at the buyer's expense.

This Akylone prototype is a concept car designed to be exhibited at trade shows and for shoots in temperate environments. Although it can be driven on the road, it is not legal to do so and must be considered an exhibition piece. As a reminder, like all concept cars, not all systems are functional and only serve to show what the future production car will be like.

This 2021 Genty Akylone is the prototype concept car used to develop the production model and is owned by Genty Automobile.

NOTED IMPERFECTIONS

Given this 2021 Genty Akylone's use as a prototype, existing wear throughout the car's exterior and interior is not unexpected. Wear on the seat bolsters and staining on the seats can be seen in the gallery photos.  Fit and finish is what would be expected from a prototype; it is not perfect and may not be functional, but it is purposeful.  As mentioned, this prototype is not road legal and can not be registered to drive on the street.  All of these items are detailed as best as possible in the extensive photo gallery, as well as photos of the documentation of the car at major automotive events including the 2023 Geneva Supercar Show.
