1994 Porsche 993 Reinterpreted by Kreinzel

OVERVIEW

SBX Cars is proud to offer for sale this unique one-of-one 1994 Porsche 993 Reinterpreted by Kreinzel, finished in Metallic Dark Blue over a Cognac leather interior, and showing 360 kilometers on the odometer at the time of cataloging. 

MODEL HISTORY

The 993 generation was arguably the last true Porsche 911 and, even though the German automaker built faster cars, it still had that specific Porsche sound.

What made the 993 so special was it offered a mix of old and new school, with enough comfort as a daily driver, and performance on tap.

On the subject of performance, the 993 boasted a completely reworked flat-six engine. The 3.6-liter, which was offered in two power versions depending on the market and manufacturing year, could be with either a six-speed manual or Tiptronic (automatic) transmission with manual override for gear changes.

The 993 was fitted with a newly-developed suspension system to resolve the lift-off oversteer issue from the previous generation.

The base model was the ‘Carrera’, which featured – in true Porsche tradition – two round headlights and a flat trunk lid sitting lower than the fenders.

Noticeably, the windshield wasn’t very raked, and the sloped back toward the end of the car made a curved line along with the engine lid.

A rear spoiler was installed, automatically extending depending on the car’s speed, or via a button installed in front of the gear shifter.

On the inside, the interior featured sports bucket seats up front, while in the back there were two small seats.

The 993’s dashboard had an instrument cluster featuring five dials, with the tachometer in the middle and a clock on the right side.

Meanwhile, the climate controls and stereo were mounted in line with the steering column.

THIS 1994 PORSCHE 993 REINTERPRETED BY KREINZEL

This unique one-of-one 1994 Porsche 993 Reinvented by Kreinzel was produced for a VIP client.

Meticulously crafted from the ground up, with over €350,000 invested solely in new Porsche parts, it was built on the foundation of an original Porsche 993 Carrera 2 Cabriolet.

As Porsche never made a Targa variant of the 933, Kreinzel had to design the entire basic structure to convert the car from Cabriolet to Targa.

The construction process took more than four years to complete, and involved engineering and creating parts so the end result would be, as it is, perfect.

Powering this bespoke Porsche is a 3.6-liter flat-six engine producing 315 horsepower, mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

Stopping power comes in the form of a four-piston sport braking system, sitting behind a set of 18-inch Fuchs wheels.

Other notable features include a Clubsport exhaust system, adjustable suspension, and exclusive customized Recaro sport/comfort seats finished in Cognac leather, offering the perfect contrast to the Metallic Dark Blue exterior. 

This 993 also benefits from a range of creature comforts including GPS, Bluetooth, and a high-fidelity sound system.

MECHANICAL

This one-off 993, currently residing in Portugal, has covered a mere 360 kilometers since its conversion.

Supplied with Porsche technical certification, it’s eligible for registration worldwide, and can be maintained at any certified Porsche service center. 

As the engine was completely rebuilt, the odometer was reset to zero, so that the new life of this exclusive car can be recorded.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE SALE

The sale of this 993 is accompanied by an exclusive leather case including keys, controls, and one-of-one plaque.

Also supplied are new factory tools, an emergency first aid kit personalized with seat fabric, and a car cover for an indoor garage. 

New official books to record all future maintenance are included, in addition to a photographic record of the construction process.
